How does a multihead weigher work?

In food processing plants and daily necessities workshops, multi weigher are real "weighing experts". Maybe many people are curious about how they work. So, let's talk about this amazing device in plain language. 

The Multihead Weigher, just by its name, suggests it has "many heads". Generally speaking, the common ones have 8 or 10 heads, and some can have as many as 16 or even more. These "heads" are actually individual weighing hoppers, each functioning like a small scale capable of weighing items independently. Each also has its own "little brain" - the control system, and a super-sensitive "little foot" - the weighing sensor.

At the beginning of the work, it's like distributing candies to children. Materials need to be delivered first. However, the ones delivering materials to the multi-head scales are not human hands but vibrating feeders or other feeding devices. They are like small shakers, distributing materials evenly into each scale hopper through vibration. The frequency and duration of the vibration are like the small switches controlling the amount of candies, determining how much material can enter the scale hoppers. 

After the materials are placed in the weighing hoppers, the main event begins - weighing. The weighing sensors in each hopper are extremely important; they are like the "little eyes" of the hoppers, accurately "seeing" the weight of the materials inside. Once the weighing is done, these weight data are quickly sent to the control system, just like students handing in their homework to the teacher for grading. At this point, the control system becomes a "super math whiz student", with the target weight we set in advance stored in its "brain", such as 500 grams of melon seeds. It takes the weight data from each hopper and starts a frantic combination calculation. Imagine it's like playing a jigsaw puzzle, finding the combination closest to 500 grams from a pile of differently weighted "puzzle pieces" (the weights of materials in each hopper). Whether it's 10 hoppers or 16 hoppers, it can quickly calculate the best combination. 

After the control system calculates the most suitable combination, the next step is the unloading process. The selected hoppers, as if receiving an "open the door" command, will suddenly open their discharge doors with a "pop", dumping the materials all at once into the Packaging machine or conveyor belt below. After unloading, the hoppers are very self-aware and will automatically reset to zero, ready to receive the next batch of materials and start a new round of weighing. 

In actual production, the working speed and accuracy of multi-head scales are particularly remarkable. Previously, manual weighing was slow and prone to errors. When it came to tasks requiring precise weights, it was especially troublesome. Multi-head scales are different. They can not only complete weighing quickly but also ensure that the weights are extremely accurate. For instance, in the production of small snacks, where each package needs to contain a fixed weight of potato chips, multi-head scales are like tireless and precise little workers, continuously completing tasks, significantly improving production efficiency and saving a lot of manpower. 

Nowadays, multi head weigher machine have become highly sought-after in many industries such as food, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals. From weighing small snacks like sunflower seeds and candies to measuring raw materials for medicines and chemical powders, they can handle it all with ease. It can be said that with multi-head scales, material weighing has become both fast and worry-free, bringing a great deal of convenience to our production and daily life.
